CoViD-19 Report … 17 Oct 2021

Topic: Can we control the continual spread of CoViD-19

Cases of CoViD

• 44.9 million in the U.S.
• 219 million in the world
• NOTE: the U.S. is 4% of the global population, yet 20.5% of the world’s cases … you got to ask
WHY

Deaths due to CoViD

• 724,000 in the U.S.
• 4.55 million in the world
• NOTE: the U.S. is 15.9% of global deaths yet again only 4% of the world’s population … WHY

Vaccinations Given in the United States

• 407 million doses administered
• 189 million are fully vaccinated, representing 57.3% of our population … which far less than the
70 to 90% required to achieve Herd Immunity
• NOTE: if we as a nation, do not achieve Herd Immunity, this pandemic will continue

Safety of CoViD Vaccinations

• Between 14 Dec 2020 thru 6 Oct 2021, the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS)
received 8,638 reports of deaths following more than 403 million CoViD vaccinations. These
reported cases represent 0.0021%. NOTE, after careful clinical review, reported by the CDC
these deaths were not directly attributable to the mRNA vaccinations. There may have been
a plausible causal relationship with the J&J vaccinations
• Comparing CoViD vaccinations with commonly and widely used Aspirin and NSAIDS, i.e.,
ibuprofen which has a death rate of 15.3/100,000 … You can clearly see that CoViD Vaccination
are clearly, much safer than aspirin.

Subsequent Vaccinations

• Case Western Reserve University in collaboration with Harvard and Brown Universities has
reported that nursing home residents and health care workers have lost > 80% of their CoViD
immunity in 6 months … this scientific evidence supports the need for Booster shots and more
research:
o The initial suggestion is to get the same Booster as previous doses
o However there is evidence that taking a mRNA vaccine as a booster in those who
previously took J&J is more effective
o The effectiveness of mixing doses is being reviewed
• CoViD Vaccination for children is being considered by the FDA
We have the tools to control or minimize the awful suffering and deaths from CoVid-19 and its variants.
Remember … an ounce of protection is worth a pound of cure. Protect yourself and your loved-ones.
The vaccines are safe, effective, available, readily accessible and free.
• Roll-up your sleeve and get vaccinated
• Wear your mask in crowed places, especially those spaces that are enclosed
• Continue with proper hand hygiene
