Thomas Britt, MD, MPH

Thomas Britt, MD, MPH, served as Chair of the Department of Health Studies of Chicago State University for seven years. He is the current President-Elect, American Association of Public Health Physicians; Chair of the National African American Drug Policy Coalition – Chicago; and Chair of the National Black Leadership Initiative on Cancer – Chicago.  He served as Principal Investigator, National Cancer Institute (NCI), 2012-2017; during this same time period, he also served as Individual Investigator, for an NCI grant, entitled Educational Program to Increase Colorectal Cancer Screening. He is Associate Editor, International Journal of Tropical Diseases and Health. He is a current American College of Sports Medicine Certified Exercise Physiologist. He is also a Clinical Trauma Professional, Certified by the International Association of Trauma Professionals. Dr. Britt received his MD and MPH from the University of Illinois Chicago.
